Increased Precautions We're Taking in Response to COVID-19

LAST UPDATED ON 10/09/2020

As updates on the impact of the coronavirus continue to be released, we want to take a moment to inform you of the heightened preventative measures we have put in place at Harmony Healthcare to keep our patients, their families, and our employees safe. All efforts are guided by and in adherence to the recommendations distributed by the CDC.

Please note that for the safety of our patients, their families, and our staff, on-site visitation is no longer allowed at Harmony Healthcare.

  • This restriction has been implemented in compliance with updated corporate and state regulations to further reduce the risks associated with COVID-19.
  • Options for telehealth visitation are continuously evaluated so that our patients can remain connected to their loved ones.
  • Alternate methods of communication for other services may be offered when deemed clinically appropriate.

For specific information regarding these changes and limitations, please contact us directly.

CDC updates are consistently monitored to ensure that all guidance followed is based on the latest information released.

  • All staff has received infection prevention and control training.
  • Thorough disinfection and hygiene guidance has been provided.
  • Patient care supplies such as masks and hand sanitizer are being monitored and utilized.
  • Temperature and symptom screening protocols are in place for all patients and staff.
  • Social distancing strategies have been implemented to ensure that patients and staff maintain proper distance from one another at all times.
  • Cleaning service contracts have been reviewed for additional support.
  • Personal protective equipment items are routinely checked to ensure proper and secure storage.
  • CDC informational posters are on display to provide important reminders on proper infection prevention procedures.
  • We are in communication with our local health department to receive important community-specific updates.

The safety of our patients, their families, and our employees is our top priority, and we will remain steadfast in our efforts to reduce any risk associated with COVID-19.

The CDC has provided a list of easy tips that can help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue and then immediately dispose of the tissue.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Clean and disinfect objects and surfaces that are frequently touched.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
  • Stay home when you are sick, except to get medical care.

Harmony Healthcare’s rapid response team (RRT) is a 24-hour, 7-day per week crisis team. The RRT is physician led and staffed by licensed, trained counselors from a variety of disciplines, including LCPCs, LCSWs, CADCs, and MFTs. The RRT meets face-to-face with each and every member in an extreme crisis, as well as members presenting for immediate hospitalization. The assessment can occur in an emergency room, an inpatient psychiatric hospital, intake room, at the work site, or at HHC’s office. Once the assessment is completed, HHC’s staff reviews the medical and clinical data and, in concert with the patient’s treating emergency room physician or PCP, initiates the required treatment. Hospitalized members are seen daily by HHC’s psychiatrist. This hands-on approach enhances the patient’s treatment and encourages effective, ongoing outpatient care post discharge.

Case Management/Utilization Review

Harmony’s case management process is initiated at the point of first contact with the client. Regardless of the nature of the case, whether it is a crisis or a regular scheduled session, Harmony Healthcare clinicians register the case with the Harmony case management system.

Harmony’s case management process is designed for immediately assessing and managing:

  • client’s stated preference and understanding of the problem,
  • patient acuity,
  • appropriateness of care,
  • timeliness of services,
  • the clinical and financial efficacy of the approach,
  • nature and quality of support systems, and,
  • discharge needs of client, significant others, and referral sources.

All care is managed by the Harmony Healthcare Case Manager. Inpatient care is monitored daily. Outpatient care is assessed in a multi-disciplinary setting and a treatment plan is formulated which identifies the problems, interventions, objectives and goals. At this time a length of stay or proposed frequency and duration of care is determined. The case is then reviewed based on the proposed care plan. In instances where additional care is anticipated, the case is re-staffed and additional care authorized. Case management review includes pre-admission review, concurrent review, discharge planning and monitoring of aftercare. This methodology assures that all plan participants receive high quality, clinically necessary, appropriate, timely care in a cost efficient manner.

Harmony Healthcare prides itself on customer responsiveness. Harmony has the capacity to tailor reports to be specific to the needs of any client/company. Harmony’s’ legendary customer service results in client companies receiving precise data that complements their respective reporting needs.

Typically, blind statistical reports are requested quarterly outlining the number of patients utilizing the program differentiating between the insured and dependent, diagnosis and treatment modality. No names are used on the reports to protect confidentiality.
